Again, we bake!

We're all Craving Cake!

Recently, my flatmates and I have had the sweetest of sweet teeth, fancying strawberries, butter cream, jam, SPONGE! So we bake..

For me, the best stage of baking a cake, is when you get to lick whats left of the cake mix.
My absolute favourite bit, I like to leave a reasonable amount of the mix in the bowl.

This one turned out to be a lot thinner as we only had one cake tin, cutting it in half was tricky, but the classic sponge never disappoints! Butter cream plays a big part in my life, madly in love with the stuff.

The next morning we bake some more...

I did enjoy one of these delicious cup cakes. Next has to be a triple chocolate cake. It has to be!

I'm going through a faze of watching cooking programmes pretty much everyday, I love them! I've discovered `The fabulous Baker Brothers`, they make everything look so easy and extremely delicious! I recommend watching it!

Beach days!

The wonderful Llangennith...

`Oh I do like to be beside the Seaside,

One of my favourite places to be.. down by the sea.
I feel the need to share some photos that I've taken down Llangennith, rain or sunshine, the place always looks beautiful!

I took this photograph whilst trying to warm up in the car after a lovely surf

So very beautiful...

I've had the most memorable days camping and surfing here with friends, all you need is the sand and the sea to have a brilliant time.

oh mamma, I wanna go surfing

Cake days...

Rainbow Cakes

After a lovely day of drinking Tea and shopping, a friend of mine, Lauren, wanted to bake some lovely Rainbow cupcakes!

Blue sponge + blue icing - the sky
fluffy blobs of butter cream icing - the fluffy clouds
Rainbow belts going from each yummie clouds

Going from dyed blue hands to scrumptious blue cakes...

I was impressed although they looked a little strange at this stage

Now for the decoration

Lauren making the clouds all wonderful and fluffy

Making a lovely mess!

And this was our final outcome...

The inside amazed me...

mmm I had a lovely time watching Africa with one of these rainbows!

The Washing Basket

New Clean Fresh Ideas Should Be Out In The Open

Another one of our one week projects during my time studying the Foundation Course...

Whilst spending some time getting to know what the different areas of Art & Design entailed, Visual Communication stood out to me, I really enjoyed creating a sketchbook with the theme `Opposites`.

From this we were to produce a number of Marquette's that visually communicate something, anything in this case. I had the idea of creating two washing baskets which interlock with one another and once pulled apart, a washing line is pouring out a message written on clothes..

I do like this photograph...

I don't know why but I seem to have an obsession with washing lines, whenever we are to exhibit our work I instantly think of hanging it up on a line!

Beach Hut!

So the hard work begins on my Foundation course...

One week 3D project - Challenge on!

Having had 5 one week projects within the different areas of Art & Design, 3D happened to be one of my favorites. We were given the task to create something, anything, 3D. We spent a day playing with a variety of different materials, manipulating them, ripping them, knotting them, as long as the outcomes were three-dimensional. Our project was to create a piece of work from the maquettes that we had made that day. Deep down, I already knew what I wanted to make before we got started with the maquettes [guilty]. A Beach hut! I would happily live in one, on the beach, the peaceful sound of waves crashing all day every day, the sea air, the sand, oh it's all so dreamy! I really wanted to enjoy the experience of making my own little hut, I'd like to think of it as a model of my future home, an initial idea of how i'd like it to look.
A few years back, I went for a lovely week away to Devon, where I discovered this beautiful beach, Woolacombe. One of the first things I noticed was this never ending row of colourful huts, I thought they were amazing! I just wanted to curl up and sleep in one.

mmmmm so lovely...

So the cutting, sawing, sanding, hammering began with the help of my dad!

Hours of time spent in the garage, bonding with the big man, was a success.

The 4 rooms...

I felt like a child again...

Ben Howard!

One talented man...

Probably the best evening I've ever had was seeing Ben Howard in Narbeth.
The atmosphere, the wonderful tuning of his guitar had me smiling all night, it was fantastic!

A favourite song of mine is `London`, the melody and everything that goes with it is beautiful, I applaud him for writing such a song.

BRILLIANT

Oh yes, we are now best buddies!
